Privacy and Social Media

We maintain a presence on social media to present ourselves to and communicate with current and potential clients.

When visiting these pages, users' data may be processed outside the territory of the European Union. In these jurisdictions, German or European data protection law does not apply in principle. Enforcing your rights can therefore be more difficult. US providers certified to the Privacy Shield framework have committed to comply with EU privacy standards.

The data obtained from the visitors of social media are usually processed for market research and advertising purposes. Based on the content users access, user profiles can be created which, in turn, are used for advertisements inside and outside social media. These profiles are intended to serve the interests of the users. This procedure is usually made possible by cookies, which are stored on users' computers.

Data from users of social media can also be stored by the provider in other ways, particularly if these users are registered and logged in to the provider’s platform.

The processing of the users' personal data takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. As the operator of social media fan pages, we have a legitimate interest in effectively informing users and communicating with users. If the user has consented to data processing, for example by clicking on a checkbox, the legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR.

Further information about data processing and advertising opt-outs can be obtained from the respective providers listed below.

Requests for information and the assertion of other user rights are most effectively directed to the providers themselves. Only those who have access to all user data can provide the requested information or take action.
