EXAMINATION

  • Reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression (total 160 minutes) and oral expression (individual test of 30 minutes). You can find detailed information at www.testdaf.de.
     
  • Levels
    The results of all four sections of the examination are assigned to one of three levels (TestDaF Levels 3, 4 and 5).
    As a rule, TestDaF Level 4 is sufficient for admission to a German university.
     
  • Examination location
    inlingua Sprachschule, Munich - the TestDaF examinations are held on the school premises as we are an authorised TestDaF examination centre.

PREPARATORY COURSES

  • Prerequisites
    Good to very good skills in everyday language. Your skills will be evaluated in a placement test.
     
  • Programme
    30 lessons of 45 minutes each with 3-5 participants, 20 lessons with 2 participants.
     
  • Duration
    7 weeks (Mondays and Wednesdays from 17.30 to 19.05 or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17.30 to 19.05)

Do you need an internationally recognised certificate?

Then we recommend a telc examination in German. telc stands for "The European Language Certificates".

Then the g.a.s.t. Deutsch Test für Zuwanderer DTZ is the right examination for you.

    The DTZ exam consists of a written and an oral section. Integration courses end with this exam.

Do you need proof of your knowledge of German at Level A1 to obtain a Title of Residence or because you wish to apply for a visa as part of the procedure for joining your spouse?

Then we recommend doing the telc German test (telc Deutsch A1).

The test for German as a foreign language in business, TestWiDaF®, was developed by the Franco-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

As a standardised, work-related German test, TestWiDaF® tests the ability of non-native speakers to use Business German in the workplace.

It is a reliable tool for evaluating listening and reading comprehension while paying special regard to knowledge of German grammar for both companies and educational institutions.

 

  • Test format
     
    • Continuous Placement Test with classification in the respective CEFR level (this is not a pass/fail system) with paper and a pencil
    • Carried out in authorised WiDaF® Test Centres

    A2 to C2, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
     
  • Structure
     
    • Grammar and reading comprehension: 100 multiple-choice questions in 105 minutes.
    • Listening comprehension: 50 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes.

    The test takes 150 minutes plus a 10 minute break
